Another picture done...
much happier with this effort....it is time to try something different next...something fun...thinking of Georgia O'Keeffe's style, or Vanessa Bell
I may take a course in the fall and start at the beginning for once! With only having had a folk art brush in my hand, I jumped into watercolour painting with a workshop of experienced painters!
Humbling but inspiring as well

Play Day .... this Sunday

my first inspiration, "Quiet Morning" by Trisha Romance, particularly for perspective..I find perspectives difficult to get right most times..

The drawing is done

Inspiration all around me...I have a whimsical idea in mind for this painting

The sky is done..

a little inspiration from Marlene Bulas
My next watercolour course....an on-line course...maybe I will start today...I feel the need to paint...unless the sun comes out and the garden dries up a bit...and then it will be weeds and long grass that I attack on this quiet Sunday.

Fluff Movie

I'm watching a fluff movie,  (Leap Year)I am sure the scenery - Ireland - will keep me awake, while I knit.  Friday night.  So bored that posting 'before' and 'after' pictures of my new do, is pretty exciting.

After one year of growing...my hair is all one length...does life get more exciting than that??? she asks sarcastically

An up and down week....post-holiday deflation...missing my friends.

I will need to get to Owen Sound again...soon...but what else can go wrong with my car, after my gutless and very noisy drive home from Owen Sound? Let's see...the front tire is still leaking slowly and new rims aren't worthwhile...and today, after 3 hours of a mega shopping trip, 4 stops; I am home, I park and the windows won't close...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Breathe and transport myself here...a beach in Nantucket...where I would dream of spending the entire summer in a little cottage...take art classes....read...knit...become a beachcomber...watch the tide...visit the little towns..spend days on the beach...bliss.

Open Doors in Owen Sound took us to many places, with the privilege of seeing inside some very beautiful heritage homes.  On this tour we visited this incredible garden, maintained by the owner.  Apparently winters are long in Owen Sound *ahem*  and so I gather that accounts for the number of concrete garden items that Mr. Moore makes himself. There is the flower garden, two Leslies among the Lupines and beautiful European inspired gardens, front and side view of the mansion and the greenhouse. We didn't venture in the maze, however.

Mr. Moore, owner of the mansion and grounds,, the gardener, designer, and concrete artisan.

My cup is filled again...an inspiring week away with my best friend...in her territory.
